Test and requirements management is about more than just coverage. It’s about clarity and the speed to act on it.
With that goal in mind, we’re excited to announce the official release of Storm AI, the new opt-in intelligence layer for TestRay — now available in version 12.0 and above for Jira Data Center customers.
What Is Storm AI?
Storm AI is not a standalone app. It’s a lightweight, secure orchestration layer that connects TestRay to leading AI services like OpenAI, Gemini, Google Vertex AI, and Azure OpenAI — enabling powerful, context-aware capabilities inside your existing workflows.
Designed for regulated, high-complexity environments, Storm AI helps reduce manual effort, improve traceability, and accelerate test and requirements authoring — all without disrupting your Jira-native experience.
**Storm AI is patent pending.
What’s in Storm AI v1.0.0 for TestRay?
This first release focuses on early-stage authoring and structure, where most of the cognitive load sits across QA and product planning. With Storm AI in TestRay for Jira, you can:
Generate Requirements from Raw Input: Write a paragraph, paste a Confluence page, or summarize a spec and you can generate structured requirement issues, complete with summaries, fields, and acceptance criteria.
Break Down Complex Requirements: Split high-level or vague requirements into clear, actionable components. This makes planning easier and sets you up for better coverage down the line.
Auto-Generate Test Cases: From within any requirement issue, you can trigger it to generate traceable test cases, customized to your test plan. The suggestions are editable, traceable, and ready for review.
Why Storm AI for TestRay Matters
Even the most mature QA teams face these common slowdowns:
Manually translating business requirements into test-ready assets
Missing gaps in coverage due to vague or high-level inputs
Rework caused by unclear expectations across roles
Storm AI, which triggers the AI capabilities in TestRay, helps reduce these friction points across both test and requirements lifecycles.
It doesn’t try to “automate” the human out of the process. Instead, it works as a thinking aid — helping you spot blind spots, move faster, and build with more confidence.
Works inside Jira — no exports, syncs, or new tools
Prompts are fully configurable per project
Outputs are always reviewable and editable before creation
Compatible with multiple AI providers — your choice
Designed with control, transparency, and security in mind
